Session Locations

All locations with photos below have NO travel fee for complimentary sessions.

Please keep in mind your session is completely free (we truly make $0 off of it) if you chose it to be included in your package as your complimentary add on, so all travel, shooting fees, and permit fees will be billed to you

For PAID sessions ($500/One Hour) you would only be responsible for studio/permit

For Bridal sessions, we typically use your venue but travel fees may apply for complimentary bridal sessions farther than 1.5 hours from me - if you want to avoid a travel fee, these locations are also available for bridals!

Additional Locations (will have a travel fee for free sessions depending on distance)

  • The Oak Atelier (Studio rental $100) Great for bridals if you don’t want to use your venue. Travel $200.

  • Houston NSR Loft Studio (Studio rental $150) Has some outdoor options nearby as well. Travel $150

  • Galveston (the strand, downtown, boardwalk, beach) These can be SO fun. If you want “beach” we have a free location option below. Travel $275.

  • Kemah Boardwalk. Travel $300.

  • Rice University (shooting fee + permit around $100 total) Travel $150

  • WG Jones State Forest (Conroe) Travel $175

  • Permission Whiskey (Bar, they charge a shooting fee that includes a one hour session and two drinks) Travel $175

    UNAVAILABLE LOCATIONS

  • Downtown Houston: The homeless population and organized crime is insane - lots of photographers being followed from downtown and their vehicles robbed if they stop to eat/get gas. My car was broken into TWICE and we had a scary altercation with a homeless guy at a session. It is very scary to walk around with $10k hanging around your neck as a 5 foot, 120 pound woman who is traveling alone, and I am not typically an anxious person but it’s gotten SO BAD.

  • Hermann, Buffalo Bayou or Elenor Tinselly Park, Sabine St Bridge. TOO CROWDED literally all the time and permits are required but a pain to get (and expensive.)

  • Houston Library. You’ll get kicked out without a permit and aren’t allowed to talk, laugh, play or have fun which is a huge part of EMP’s style of shooting. Have to remain quiet and subdued so it can be hard to pose and direct clients, making the session a little awkward.

If you have another location in mind or a different vibe, reach out and let us know and we can plan and talk through other location options! This isn’t a hard and fast list - just my main ones!

IMPORTANT: Please keep in mind the photos below are taken in ALL seasons and all types of lighting conditions. Some on sunny days, some when a storm was rolling in (literally lol), some in the dead of winter and some in the spring/summer. This is solely to see a LOCATION not to base the vibe and style of your session off of. Your lighting, time you book, outfits you choose and weather will all make your final gallery look very unique!

Downtown Beaumont

Super cute trendy “urban” location, lots of options, usually empty after 5pm. There is also a rooftop option (not pictured) and a great sunset field/park across the street for two different looks within the same session. Prefer this downtown over Houston just solely for character and lack of people. If we go during business hours there are some GREAT gold elevators we can sometimes get some photos on! There’s an old theatre as well and some super cool buildings. Not all are pictured here, but you get the vibe.

Sea Rim State Park

A free beach alternative to Galveston, Sea Rim is GORGEOUS. The best part is that it is almost always empty and non-crowded and there are no houses or vehicles in the background. Also has a field location nearby for two different looks within the same session. Bring towels and a full change of clothes because we will get wet!

Tyrell Park (Beaumont)

Really nice park with a garden, green house, lake, fields, and wetlands!

Wallisville

If you want outdoors, fields, trees, water, sunset - this is it. Love this location and it has dozens of different looks within just a few minute drive. This isn’t all locations pictured - LOTS of options here!

The Barn Whiskey Bar

A really fun option! This is close to Wallisville, so with good timing can hit both locations - maaaay consider extending session by 1/2 hour if both locations are important!

The River at Cleveland

I don’t have a ton of current photos (maybe you can be the one to update this section!) but this spot as a couple great fields with trees alongside the Trinity River with a HUGE sandbar and many different trails and outdoor areas to shoot.

The Zavalla Springs

One of my favorite locations but it IS a drive for most. It is closest to Zavalla, Texas for reference but if you are wanting something different this would be the place. It is centrally located near the lake if you wanted to do two locations as well. We do have a great AirBNB about 10 minutes away, and offer discounted nightly rentals to our clients if you want to make a day/night of it!

This one is a drive for me as well BUT I like to include it on this free list solely because I love shooting there. Things to bring: a comfy pair of shoes to walk in, change of clothes, $5 in cash for the entry fee, and towels, just in case!

Lake Sam Rayburn

A drive for most, but worth it. I don’t do many sessions out here due to distance so these photos aren’t the most updated but I LOVE this spot. So much fun for a quick dip in the water and lots of pine trees and forests to shoot in as well for a different look. Bring a boat or a paddle board for something different and fun!

(The family shoot was done in the middle of severe weather rolling in, while the first session was on a gorgeous sunny day - see the difference!)

Southeast Texas (Various)

This is where I currently live (couldn’t do Houston for another second) but I have SO many locations around here. The first field location is in Beaumont but have different spots in Kountze (The Roy Larson Sanctuary is great), Silsbee (Tall Pines, big fields and a creek to take a dip in), lots of fall colors in the fall, spring flowers in the spring, and good outdoorsy spots. Since I live here, I know more “hidden gems” and what is currently looking good! All locations below are within 30 minutes of each other, for the most part.

If you see a specific location below, it’s going to be in the general area of Lumberton/Beaumont/Silsbee. We can usually hit a couple spots around here!

  • Village Creek Sandbar

  • Oak Avenue

  • Dry Creek bed

  • Lumberton City Park (trees, lake pretty light)

  • Starbucks (coffee shop pictures below)

  • Random fields and pretty spots I see driving around

  • Neches Riverbed (when its low)
